Why can't I see the Members button?
Almost always a permission gate — Crew and Viewer don't see Members, by design. Here's the quick checklist to confirm.
It's a permission thing, not a bug
Overture hides UI you can't use. If the Members button is missing from your event header, the most likely cause is that your role doesn't include the permission to see or manage members on this event. The button is gated to roles that can either view the member list or invite new members.
Quick checks, in order
- Confirm which event you're in. Members is per-event, not per-org. You may have access to a different event in the same org but not this one.
-
Check your role on this event. Hover the Members button
on an event where it does appear, then compare. The shorthand:
- Owner and Administrator always see Members.
- Producer sees Members on most events but cannot invite — the button just shows the list.
- Crew and Viewer do not see the Members button. This is by design.
-
Refresh the page. If your role on this event was just
changed, you may still be running with the old permissions cached in your
tab. A hard reload (
Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+R) usually fixes that. - Sign out and back in. If a refresh didn't do it, sign out and sign in again to pick up the latest permission set.
The full role visibility matrix
For the complete "what buttons should I see" table, see Administrator vs Producer vs Crew vs Viewer. The short version for Members:
- Owner — sees Members, can invite, can change roles, can remove.
- Administrator — sees Members, can invite, can change roles, can remove.
- Producer — sees Members (read), cannot invite or remove.
- Crew — cannot see Members.
- Viewer — cannot see Members.
Still missing after all that
If your role is one that should see Members but the button still isn't there:
- Try the cache clear.
- Try a different browser to rule out a local extension blocking the UI.
- Send a support ticket with the event name, your role, the browser, and a screenshot of the event header. See How to report a bug to support.
