How to change a member's role
Adjust a person's role on a specific event — from the Members dialog. Takes effect immediately, no email goes out.
Every member on an event has a role on that event. You can change it any time from the Members dialog — the new role takes effect immediately, with no email to the member.
The four assignable roles
When you open the role dropdown for any member, you'll see exactly four choices:
- Administrator — full structural edits plus invite/remove other members
- Producer — full structural edits, but cannot invite or remove members
- Crew — edit row content (notes, follow-ups, mark complete), but not session structure
- Viewer — read-only

Steps
- Open the event, then click Members in the top toolbar of the dashboard.
- Find the person whose role you want to change.
- Click the role dropdown in their row (the one showing their current role).
- Pick the new role. The change saves immediately and a small toast confirms Role updated.
What the member sees
No email goes out for a role change. The next time they refresh or open the event, the new role is in effect — they'll see more (or fewer) edit controls depending on whether you raised or lowered them.
Who you can't change
The Owner of the organization doesn't appear in the per-event Members dialog at all — the Owner has full Administrator powers on every event automatically. Only the four event-level roles (Administrator, Producer, Crew, Viewer) show up in the dialog.
If you set the wrong role
Just open the dropdown again and pick a different one. There's no cooldown, no email churn, no version history of role changes inside Overture today — so if you change someone three times in a minute, only the final value sticks.
