How to add a venue to an event

Type a venue name (or pick one from the autocomplete list), add the address, and Overture fetches photos and a map automatically.

Each Overture event has one venue. You can add a venue when you create the event, or any time after by scrolling to the bottom of the event dashboard. Once a venue is set, Overture can fetch site photos and a map pin automatically.

After you click Fetch photos & map, the venue panel populates with a map pin and a photo strip. Use the Paste photo URL field underneath to add your own venue photos at any time.

Option 1: Add it when you create the event

On the Create new event screen there's a "Venue (optional)" section near the bottom. Type the venue name there and create the event. You'll add the rest of the venue details (address, photos, staff, logistics) from the dashboard.

Option 2: Add it from the event dashboard

  1. Open the event and click the Dashboard tab.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page. You'll see a "Venue" card.
  3. Click into the Venue name field and start typing. As you type, Overture's place autocomplete suggests real venues by name — pick one and the address, map coordinates, and website auto-fill.
  4. If you'd rather type the address yourself, fill in the Venue name field with your free-text name, then fill in the Full address field below it.
  5. Click Fetch photos & map. Overture takes 20–40 seconds to research the venue and return site photos, a map pin, and (when available) a list of common venue contacts. You can edit anything that comes back.

What "Fetch photos & map" does

Research uses the name + address you typed to find:

If something comes back wrong, edit it directly — every field is editable after research. You can also click Refresh photos & map at any time to re-run research.

Permissions

Editing the venue requires the Edit event details permission. View-only members can see all the venue information but not change it.
