How to upload venue photos
Paste a photo URL into the Map + Photos card on the dashboard, add an optional caption, and click Add photo. Research adds photos automatically too.
Venue photos are stored by URL — Overture doesn't upload image files from your computer. Paste the URL of an image hosted anywhere (the venue's own site, a Dropbox share link, a Google Drive direct link, anywhere image URLs work) and it appears in the venue photo strip on the dashboard.
To add a photo
- Open the event and click the Dashboard tab.
- Scroll down until you see the Map + Photos section (full width, near the bottom).
-
Paste a photo URL into the "Paste photo URL" field. A
sample value would look like
https://example.com/ballroom.jpg. - (Optional) Type a short caption in the "Caption (optional)" field. The caption appears overlaid at the bottom of the photo.
- Click Add photo. The photo appears at the end of the photo strip.
Photos that come from research
When you click Fetch photos & map on a venue, Overture pulls photos automatically from public sources. Those photos appear in the same strip as ones you've pasted manually. If a research photo URL later breaks (the host removed it), Overture quietly hides it on this device — but won't delete it, because a temporary network blip shouldn't nuke a good photo. The next time you run research it'll get re-validated on the server.
To delete a photo
Hover any photo in the strip. A small trash icon appears in the upper-right corner. Click it. The photo is removed immediately. (There's no confirmation dialog, so be sure.)
What kinds of URLs work
-
Direct image URLs that end in
.jpg,.png,.webp, or.gifwork best. - Web pages that contain an image don't work — you need the URL of the image itself. Right-click the image in your browser and pick "Copy image address."
- Cloud share links (Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive) need to be the direct/raw share URL, not the preview-page URL.
