How to change a venue's address
Edit the address field directly on the dashboard, then optionally refresh the map and photos. Your own notes are never overwritten by re-research.
The venue address is one of the most common things to update — the venue moves the function to a different ballroom, the hotel changes its street number, or you typed it wrong the first time. Changing it takes about ten seconds and you can re-run research to refresh the map and photos.
To change the address
- Open the event and click the Dashboard tab.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page until you see the "Venue" card.
- Click into the Full address field. Edit the address text directly. The change saves automatically as you type — the "All saved" pill in the top bar flips to "Saving…" briefly, then back.
- (Optional) Click Refresh photos & map after editing the address. This re-runs venue research with the new address, which updates the map pin coordinates and may return new photos.
Use the autocomplete to fix a wrong venue entirely
If the original venue was wrong (not just a typo in the address), click into the Venue name field and start typing the correct venue. The autocomplete dropdown will offer matching venues — selecting one replaces both the name and address (and updates the website link and map coordinates) in one click.
What re-research does to existing data
- Photos — replaced only if the new research returns a non-empty photo set. If research returns no photos, your existing photos stay put.
- Map pin — always updated to the latest coordinates research returns.
- Staff contacts — replaced only if research returns a non-empty staff list. Manually-added contacts you've created are preserved if research returns nothing.
- Parking / loading dock / power drops / producer notes — never touched by research. These are your own notes and they stick.
