Invite your first teammate
Got your event set up and need help running it? Add your first teammate in under a minute — just their name, email, and the role you want them to have. We send them a welcome email with a password setup link.
Why this one matters
Overture is built for teams. A producer can run an event solo, but the magic happens when your stage manager, AV lead, and check-in volunteers are all looking at the same run of show, with the right level of access.
Inviting your first teammate is the moment the tool stops being a personal notebook and starts being a real production system.
What you need first
- Your event already created (if not, see Your first event in 5 minutes).
- Your teammate's name and email address.
- A decision on which role they should have — see the chart below.
Pick a role first
Overture has three assignable roles besides Owner. Pick before you invite — you can change it later, but starting with the right one avoids confusion.
| Role | Can do | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Producer | Everything except billing — edit event, run sessions, invite others, see everything. | Co-producers, head of production, anyone who needs full access. |
| Crew | Edit assigned sessions, write follow-ups, mark things complete. Can call show during their session if the Owner allows. | Stage managers, AV leads, session leads. |
| Viewer | See the run of show. That's it — read only. | Clients, executives, observers who shouldn't be editing. |

The 30-second invite
- Open your event from the Dashboard.
- Click the Members button in the top toolbar of the event.
- In the form at the top of the dialog, type the person's Name and Email, then pick a Role.
- Click Invite.
What happens next
Overture sends a welcome email from [email protected] with a unique link to set a password. The link is good for 7 days. As soon as they set a password they're in, and the event you invited them to is on their Dashboard.
What if the email doesn't arrive?
Have them check spam first. If it's still missing, see Invite email didn't arrive.
