How to delete a row
Remove a row from a session. Times cascade automatically, the last row is protected, and recovery is possible if you delete by accident.
Deleting a row in Overture removes it from the session and shifts every row after it earlier in time (because Overture cascades row times automatically). The delete button only appears when you hover over a row, and it's intentionally quiet — it's a one-click destructive action with no confirmation dialog, so make sure you mean it before you click.
To delete a row
- Open the event and click the session tab that contains the row.
- Hover your mouse over the row you want to delete. A small action cluster fades in at the right edge of the row.
- Click the trash icon. The row disappears immediately and every row below it slides up to fill the gap.
The save-state pill
The "All saved" pill in the top bar will briefly flip to "Saving…" while the delete syncs to the server, then return to "All saved" once it's persisted. If you delete the row by accident, refresh the page only as a last resort — email [email protected] right away and we can usually restore recently deleted rows before doing anything else.
One exception: the last row
Overture won't let you delete the last remaining row in a session. The trash icon is disabled when there's only one row left, because a session always needs at least one row to anchor its start time. If you need to clear a session completely, delete the session itself instead — right-click the session tab and choose Delete.
Permission required
Deleting a row requires the Edit rows permission. Members with view-only access on the event won't see the trash icon at all.
