How to cancel your subscription
Cancel your Overture subscription from the Stripe billing portal in three clicks. You keep access through the end of your paid period — no early refund, no data loss.
Cancelling your Overture subscription stops the next renewal but lets you keep full access through the end of your current billing period. There is no early-cancel refund — what's paid is paid, what's not paid yet won't be charged. You stay on the plan you've already paid for until the period ends, then your org drops to a read-only state where your event history is preserved but you can't create new events.
-
Open your company settings
Sign in to app.overture.show. In the top-right corner, click your organization name to open the dropdown, then click Edit company info.
Top-right organization dropdown → Edit company info. -
Open the billing portal
On the Settings page, scroll to the Billing card and click Manage billing. This opens Stripe's secure billing portal in a new tab — that's where the actual cancel happens.
Scroll to the Billing card and click Manage billing. -
Click Cancel subscription
Near the top-right of the Stripe portal, next to the current subscription (Overture Basic, Pro, or Agency), click the Cancel subscription button.
The Cancel subscription button lives in the top-right of the portal next to the current plan. -
Confirm the cancellation
Stripe will ask you to confirm and may ask why you're cancelling (optional — feedback goes to us and helps us improve the product). Click Cancel subscription to confirm. You'll see a banner at the top of the portal saying something like "Your plan will be cancelled on [renewal date]."
What happens after you cancel
- You keep full access until the end of your paid period — sessions, rows, follow-ups, members, everything.
- No further charges. Stripe won't bill the renewal.
- When the period ends, your org switches to read-only: you can sign in and view past events but can't create or edit new ones.
- Your data is preserved — nothing is deleted. Resubscribe any time and you pick up exactly where you left off.
Common questions
Will I get a refund for the unused part of my year?
No. Overture subscriptions are billed annually and cancellations stop the next renewal — they don't refund the current period. You keep full access through the end of the period you paid for. If you believe you have a special circumstance (accidental annual renewal, unused service, billing dispute), see our refund policy article and email [email protected].
Can I change my mind after cancelling?
Yes — any time before the cancellation date, go back to the Stripe portal and click Renew plan or Resume subscription. Stripe will keep your subscription on the same plan and renewal date as before. After the cancel date passes, you'll need to start a new subscription (your data and org will still be there waiting).
What if I want to downgrade instead of cancel?
Downgrades (Pro → Basic, Agency → Pro) take effect at the next renewal — same rule as cancellation. To downgrade, email [email protected] with the plan you'd like to switch to and we'll set the change to take effect on your renewal date.
I don't see a Cancel subscription button.
That usually means your subscription is on a one-time plan (Overture Basic is purchased per-event and has no recurring subscription to cancel — it just expires when the event finishes). If you're on Pro or Agency and don't see the button, email [email protected] and we'll take care of it.
Will my team members lose access immediately?
No. Everyone keeps full access through the end of your paid period. After that, everyone on the org switches to read-only at the same time as the org owner.
Still need help?
Email [email protected] if you'd rather we cancel for you, or if you have a special situation we should know about. Include the org name and the email address on your account.
