How to reorder sessions

Drag-and-drop session tabs along the tab strip to put them in any order you want. Changes save instantly.

Session tabs run across the top of every event's Run of Show. Sometimes the order you created them in isn't the order you want them displayed — maybe you added a Rehearsal session after Day 1 and now want it to sit at the far left, or you want to group all your General Sessions together. Drag-and-drop lets you put them in any order, no menus needed.

Steps

  1. Hover the session tab

    Move your cursor over the session tab you want to move. The cursor changes to a grab hand and a tooltip appears — your cue that the tab is draggable.

  2. Drag the tab and drop it where you want

    Click and hold, then drag the tab left or right along the tab strip. As you drag over other session tabs, each one gets a highlighted ring to show it's the current drop target. Release the mouse button over the tab you want your dragged tab to land in front of — the tab strip re-sorts immediately and your new order saves automatically. No confirm dialog, no Save button. The Dashboard tab on the far left is not a valid drop target; only other session tabs are.

Tip

Made a mistake? Just drag the tab back. There's no penalty for reordering as many times as you like — each drop is its own independent save.

Touch devices

On a tablet or phone, press and hold the tab to start dragging, then slide your finger to the drop target and release. The same visual cues apply: a ring outline on the target tab tells you where the drop will land.

Who can reorder?

Anyone with permission to add sessions to the event can reorder them — typically the event owner, org admins, and producers. View-only members will see the tabs but won't get the grab cursor or be able to drag.

Heads up

Reordering the tab strip only changes the display order of the sessions. It does not change each session's show day or start time. If you want the tab order to match the chronological order of your show, drag the tabs into the order you want — but double-check that each session's date and time are also correct.
